Protect Niagara’s Public Health Care

Niagara’s hospitals are facing the worst crisis in years, record ER wait times and surging flu.

A $9 million shortfall caused by provincial underfunding means more than 100 frontline hospital workers will have their jobs lost or moved — nurses, cleaners, techs, the people who keep our hospitals running.Meanwhile, the Premier just found $125 million for private, for-profit clinics — but not one dollar to stop layoffs in Niagara. This is what underfunding looks like:

  • Fewer staff on the floor
  • Longer waits in the ER
  • Delayed surgeries
  • Overcrowded units and outbreaks

And when hospitals are pushed to the breaking point, privatization creeps in to fill the gaps. Families pay more. Waits get worse. Our public system weakens. Niagara’s health care shouldn’t be sacrificed while public dollars flow to private clinics.Add your name to demand the province stop the layoffs, fix the funding shortfall, and invest in Niagara’s public hospitals — not private, for-profit care.
